2017 Northern Ale Guide

Official Press Release

Minneapolis, MN, (October 27, 2016) – The Northern Ale Guide (www.northernaleguide.com), Minnesota’s Craft Brewery Passport, is pleased to announce the release of the 2017 Northern Ale Guide.

The brewing community has been exploding over the last five years, and Minnesotans have been challenged to keep up. The Northern Ale Guide provides a pocket-sized guide to many of the state’s favorite breweries - listing each taproom’s location, hours of operation, and even a note from the brewers. Not to mention, it also provides an opportunity to collect a unique stamp and free beer at each taproom after your first purchase.

2016 saw tremendous success for the first release of the Northern Ale Guide and its 35 participating taprooms. The 2017 passport will feature even more breweries, and guide owners (or “Beer Pioneers” as they are called), will have a full 12 months to check out different taprooms and try new beers. “We started this project to strengthen the community, with the intention of supporting both the beer-drinkers and the brewers of Minnesota. We are ecstatic that the feedback we from both sides has shown the Northern Ale Guide has been succeeding in achieving this mission and more”, stated Mark Portz, Co-founder, Northern Ale Guide.

“Collecting stamps in my Northern Ale Guide and drinking free beer has not only been a fun hobby since this summer, but an unexpected connection to a great new community. My brewery passport has been a great conversation starter and I find myself regularly hanging out with other beer pioneers in taprooms around the state,” said Hunter Sager, MN beer-drinker.

The 2017 Northern Ale Guide’s “buy-one-get-one beer” deal will be valid January 1st – December 31st, 2017 at all featured breweries. While you cannot redeem your BOGO Beers until January, the 2017 passport is available for preorder and early delivery today. If you are eager to check out some taprooms this fall/winter yet, the website is now also offering a bundle option to receive a free 2016 passport with your 2017 preorder – encouraging you to start exploring right away or even return to your favorite breweries with your new guide and try some new beers you might have missed during your last visit. Look to the Northern Ale Guide website and social media for the full list of participating taprooms to be announced soon.

About Northern Ale Guide

Founded by a group of students at the University of Minnesota, the Northern Ale Guide was created to help connect beer-enthusiasts with local taprooms to support the growth of the Minnesota brewing community. As beer-lovers and entrepreneurial students at the Carlson School of Management, a class project turned into a statewide initiative to bring Minnesotans and visitors to the source of their favorite brews and explore the best of what our great state has to offer.
