Northern Ale Guide Sponsors Minnesota Brewery Crawl, The Tipsy Timberer

Minneapolis, MN (February 17, 2017) – The Northern Ale Guide (www.northernaleguide.com), Minnesota’s Craft Brewery Passport, is excited to announce its decision to sponsor the Tipsy Timberer, a one-of-a-kind brewery crawl, taking place July 22, 2017 in the Minneapolis.

The Tipsy Timberer is a Lumberjack and Lumberjill themed brewery crawl across many of the Minnesota’s great breweries located in the cities. The final list of participating breweries is to be released soon. In the meantime, eager lumberers can check for updates on the Tipsy Timberer website and social media sites.

Participating Minnesotans (and guests) will receive a free Tipsy Timberer themed t-shirt, at  least three complimentary beers to be used at any of the participating taprooms, an “event passport” to collect stamps in along the way, free transportation between select breweries along the route, and a whole day of fun experiencing the taprooms of Minnesota.

“Our mission at the Northern Ale Guide is to connect beer-drinkers with the source of their favorite beers and help everyone to discover new taprooms around the state. We believe the Tipsy Timberer provides another great opportunity for people to get out and physically experience the magic of the taprooms themselves,” said Chris Hofacker, Co-founder, Northern Ale Guide.

5 Reasons You Won't Want To Miss The 2017 Tipsy Timberer Brewery Crawl

If you haven’t heard yet, the 2017 Tipsy Timberer is coming to town July 22. The first event of its kind - participating lumberjacks and lumberjills from all over will have the opportunity to experience the magic of Minneapolis taprooms while crawling (and taking free event buses) for craft beer. If that isn’t enough of a reason to attend, check out these 5 more:

  1. The Beer - Of course. A number of top taprooms in the area will be pouring their best brews. If your favorite beer isn’t at one of these breweries, your new favorite very well might be.  Did we mention at least three beers are free and buses will be providing free event transportation between beer stops?

  2. The People Watching - As far as we know, there is no larger gathering of beer-drinking lumberjacks in the world. Where else do you expect to see so many beards, flannels, and bad puns about lumberjacks? So put on your favorite flannel and join the party.

  3. SWAG - Not into flannels? No problem! All participants receive a free event-themed t-shirt when you check-in. Not good enough? You also get at least 3 free beers, an event passport to collect stamps in along the route, souvenir plastic cups (with beer in them), and opportunities to get even more cool stuff.

  4. Get to Know the Community - In addition to all your friends and neighbors attending, lots of local community partners and vendors will be hanging out during the event. Learn about new opportunities to get involved around the area by chatting about arts and crafts, fitness, food and drink, events, and more.

  5. Memories that will last a lifetime - To us, this is what taprooms are all about. The little things like the time we spend with our friends having a beer and enjoying a simple board game. Well, this is one of those (big) little things you’ll look back on fondly like when Jimmy spills beer on his flannel and has to walk around with a wet mark on his pants the rest of the day.

2017: The Year of Even More Free Beer

The brewing community has been exploding over the last five years, and Minnesotans have been challenged to keep up. The Northern Ale Guide provides a pocket-sized guide to many of the state’s favorite breweries - listing each taproom’s location, hours of operation, and even a note from the brewers. Not to mention, it also provides an opportunity to collect a unique stamp and free beer at each taproom after your first purchase.

After its launch in 2016, featuring 35 MN taprooms, the Northern Ale Guide is back with even more opportunities for savings. This project was started by a group of students at the University of Minnesota to strengthen the community, with the intention of supporting both the beer-drinkers and the brewers of Minnesota.

Whether you enjoy collecting stamps, drinking craft beer on a budget, meeting new people, planning a road trip or you are just looking for a reason to check out a new brewery, this beer passport has something for everyone.

The 2017 Northern Ale Guide’s “buy-one-get-one beer” deal is valid through December 31st, 2017 at all featured breweries. Look to the Northern Ale Guide website for the full list of participating taprooms. Special offer: use the promo code “BEERPLOMA” at checkout for free shipping!
